Now, I know what you’re thinking—“She doesn’t look old enough to have been a florist for years!” And you’d be right! My journey into floristry started with my mum, who was a florist for 23 years. She’s the reason my love for flowers bloomed.

Every day after kinder and school, I’d run straight to the back of Mum’s shop, where I’d spend hours playing with flowers, watching her work, and creating my own little bouquets. What started as childhood fun quickly grew into a true passion, and before I knew it, floristry became second nature to me.

Starting my apprenticeship with Jacinta at Jacinta’s Flower Studio was the beginning of an incredible journey—one that I will always cherish. Under Jacinta’s guidance, my fundamental skills in floristry truly blossomed, shaping me into the florist I am today. Every day was a new opportunity to learn, create, and grow, and for that, I am forever grateful.

One of the most unforgettable highlights of my time there was competing in WorldSkills Australia at both regional and national levels. It was an exhilarating experience to showcase my skills alongside other talented budding young florists. Even more special, it was there that I first met my boyfriend, making the journey even more meaningful.

Looking back, I know that my time at Jacinta’s Flower Studio was more than just an apprenticeship—it was the foundation of my passion, a time of growth, and an experience I will treasure for a lifetime.

These days,I still work full-time, but I love having floristry as my creative escape. There’s something so special about getting to share my love for flowers and bring people’s floral visions to life. I’ve also recently moved out of home and started the adventure of real adulting with my boyfriend—who, by the way, has officially earned the title of my little apprentice for big weddings and events! He might not have signed up for it, but he’s definitely learning a thing or two about flowers along the way.

Even though I’m no longer under Mum’s roof, her support and guidance are still as strong as ever. And now, one of the most special things is that we get to work on weddings and events together. After all those years of watching and learning from her, getting to create alongside her now is something truly meaningful—and a full-circle moment I’ll always cherish.
